Description

A small white church with pan tiled roof, nestled in a small valley be- side a road. Fruit trees in the foreground, by a road.

Commentary

A pastoral scene, most likely in France. The scudding clouds and the capture of light on the trees suggest that this small painting may have been painted from reference sketches or photographs. The choice of subject and smaller, more precise brushwork suggests Barbara Fleming.
