Description

Still life. Vivid Orange pom pom blooms crowded into a spherical blue patterned china vase on a grey table.

Commentary

Bearing the distinct influence of Matisse this depiction is a stylistic departure, but retains the strong impasto, bold palette and assured brushwork of later A Fleming. Possibly painted in England from life.
