Description
A collection of small pan tiled whitewashed rural houses and barns by the sid e of a road which runs into a ford.
Commentary
Strong impasto brush strokes on a grey/blue primed board. The confident brush strokes and strong colours with a wide tonal range suggest Alec Fleming during his period painting in France. The capture of light, particularly on the impasto whitewashed stone and the shadow on the gable of the building are typical of A fleming.
