Description
Head and shoulders of a young woman in pink, with shoulder length hair.
Commentary
Likely a portrait of Barbara Fleming in the early 1970s. Painted in a loose, fluid style with a predominance of umbers and pink. The confident flat brush application particularly on the face shows skill in the capture of light. A free flowing approach to the muted background shows Alec Fleming’s confidence in applying paint.
Attribution
Attributed to Alec Fleming.
