Description
An avenue of trees with whitewashed pan tiled buildings alongside.
Commentary
The diagonal free flowing brush work in the trees, coupled with the strong impressionistic blue sky beneath and the accomplished handling of the shadows beneath the trees are likely the work of Alec Fleming, showing the influence of French Post Impressionism. The visible ‘painterly’ hogshair brush marks are typical of this period of his work.
