Head of a woman in three quarter view with long hair against a brown background.
Commentary
An excellent example of Alec Fleming’s later work. Most likely painted in England, from life, alla prima with excellent capture of the fall of light from a nearby window. Typically painted as a half portrait in three quarter view. Unusually painted on the toothed surface of the hard board.
