Description
A seated woman in a green dress, against a light green armchair with a blue background.
Commentary
A bold experiment in Alec Fleming’s characteristic application of paint, undoubtedly from life, using heavy impasto in an alla prima painting, and a highly expressionistic palette and strong diagonal directional brushstrokes, bearing the influence of Matisse.
