Commentary
The paint handling in this pastoral scene is suggestive of Alec Fleming. The tonal depth and capture of light especially around the gable end of the building in dry brush impasto are particularly characteristic of his mature style. The ‘lollipop’ trees bear the influence of post impressionism. Probably in England.
