Description
A woman in peasant dress and headscarf.
Commentary
A ‘classic’ piece in the style of Alec Fleming, Probably earlier in his career. The heavy directional impasto of the ‘Bomberg’ school is to the fore especially in the skin tones. The single colour clothing and contrasting single colour background are also stylistically consistent to this period.

Attributed to Alec Fleming.
Given to Alec Fleming in the catalogue.
