Commentary
The strong outline and quotidien subject give a nod towards so called Kitchen Sink painters especially Gilman and John Bratby. The approach especially the confident yellow flowers for- cing their way through the hedge show A Fleming’s awareness of the wider art movements in England. Likely 1950s in England from sketches or photgraphic reference.
